How do you choose people to date? Version for those who care to read: I met a guy 7 months ago on and we started dating 4 months ago. He is very much a believer of only dating one person at a time even if you’re not in a relationship. We have never been in a relationship but it feels like one. He has terrible time management and is too busy to date, along with bad communication skills. He’ll say, “Let me you in a few” right before he goes into class for hours. Part of it is a bad upbringing with a heroin addict mother and he never knew his dad. Really I don’t know why I bother-I’m typiy a and well rounded person. He is 14 years older than me, his life is a mess-in debt from school, starting a new career and doesn’t have a whole lot to offer, even time- but I do. And I him. At this point I don’t know what to do because when I try to stop seeing him he says something to pull me back. He is patient and funny and usually kind and deals with my psycho-ness-even if I’m never psycho except about him. He is 45 and struggling going back to school full time. He barely makes rent most months so also struggles working on cars and something always seems to go wrong that he can’t keep our plans. Or he’ll have trouble in a class and rely on other student’s study groups that he never knows about until the last minute. In 4 months, I think he’s been on time once-and a Friday plan be moved to Saturday, then, then Monday and he’s late. By that time, I freak out and stop seeing him-then we’ll have a great argument where we are each caring, understanding and each other’s sides. So, we have great arguments but we shouldn’t be arguing at the beginning! After about 10 dates of this, I started being naggy-unlike me, making him prove things to me-like his 20 year old needing an MRI at 7:00PM-so we had our date in the parking lot until his came out.
